Might, Saudi Arabia in talks on electronic tags

THE Malaysian Industry-Government Group For High Technology (Might) is in talks with Saudi Arabia to equip Malaysian haj pilgrims with electronic tags called radio frequency identification (RFID), to verify their identities and monitor their movement.

Might president and chief executive officer Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman said the tracking electronic sytem is part of its e-Haj pilgrimage tracking system used in the identification process of pilgrims from Malaysia. It will be able to locate the pilgrims' luggage as well as their whereabouts during the entire haj season
