Report: Hamas leader Meshal met Egyptian spy chief in Mecca

Khaled Meshal, Hamas' Damascus-based political head, met at the beginning of September with Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman in Saudi Arabia, London daily Al-Hayat reported Sunday.

Meshal traveled to the Saudi capital, Mecca, in a bid to heal ties with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah faction, from which Hamas seized the Gaza Strip in a bloody 2007 coup.
