Tragedies during Eid holiday

Around 70 people passed away in separate incidents during the Eid holiday in various provinces of the Republic and 393 others were injured .

Traffic authorities reported to the Information Security Center that approximately 221 traffic accidents occurred on different roads of the Republic; 74 accidents of people being hit by vehicles, 88 accidents of automobiles collision and 59 other accidents.

Traffic authorities recorded 13 deaths and 73 injuries in traffic accidents that took place during the third day of Eid holiday.

Another accident resulted in the death of two children Raghad, 8, and Shadeea, 14.

In related news a fire broke out in two tents in the displaced camp in Sa’adah province causing the death of a child aged 6 as well as the destruction of two tents with various materials inside. A short circuit is believed to be behind the fire.

In drowning incidents, approximately five people died in separate accidents in Aden and al-Mahweet provinces including 3 children aged 9-13 years.

 Abdul-Nasser Jubran, 18, Mohammed Salem, 13, and Ahmed Basheer, 9, drowned while swimming in al-Tawahee coast in addition to Ramzi Ali, 12, and Amar Ali, 16, drowned in a pool in al-Amaria district.
